Secret Beach Trail
Secret Beach Trail is a moderately challenging, but relatively short hike (perhaps two miles round trip) that will reward you with scenes that represent a Pacific Northwest version of Hidden Paradise! See the map below for the location. It is just one pull-off past Natural Bridges, at a parking area for Thunder Cove. Or, you can go to the next pull off (unmarked) and the hike will be slightly shorter, but you will miss some beautiful forested trail, and a loop trail that gives you views to the Thunder Cove rock formations. This hike will require some sturdy boots, some walking down slanted rock formations, and some careful foot placement, but it is well worth it! The initial beach should be visited about two or three hours before low tide. If you time it right, and the tide is +2 feet or lower, you can walk around a rock formation to a second beach, and then through a natural tunnel to a third beach. However, do not get caught on the second or third beach when the tide comes in, or you may need to spend the night!
